Rising Star Farm & Forge Works - Our story so far.
The Business
This is where we begin, in Beaumont, Kentucky. In this little, Unincorporated, town is where we live. What is here? Not much of anything besides Kingsford Coal plant and a couple of lumber mills. Beaumont is right between Marrowbone and Summer Shade. Not lying. Follow the gravel one-way road until it ends, and that is where we begin. Just like "Where the Sidewalk Ends", is where all the little things that make us who we are. My name is Krystal, my husband is Eldon, daughter is Mary "Klaire", and son Paden. Together we make up Rising Star Farms and Rising Star Forge works. We live on 300 acres of rolling pastures and woods. The farm raises registered Berkshire pigs, Border Leicester Sheep, Appaloosa horses, and angus cows. I am beginning this blogging journey through "Baptism By Fire" because I cannot make up half of what happens in our lives. From funny animals stories, to my children being children, to unfortunate events that puts everything into perspective. Lets start this Journey!
Blacksmith Eldon Leslie
Eldon Leslie is a master blacksmith who has been forging steel for more than 25 years. He began as a teenager under the tutelage of Billy Merrit of English, Indiana learning the art of detail needed to forge the distinctive patterns of Damascus steel.
In addition to his profession as a full-time blacksmith, Eldon and his family operate a 300 acre farm raising cattle, pigs, horses, and sheep.
Leather Items
All Leather items are made in the leather shop. Only American Vegetable tanned leather is used. The items are made to last a lifetime. Please feel free to call, text, or email if you'd like a custom item made.
